Greene County Students participate in Read Across America Day

On Wednesday, March 2, 2022, students at Snow Hill Primary, Greene County Pre-K Center and Greene County Middle School participated in Read Across America Day in celebration of Dr. Suess’ birthday and to inspire people to read.

Students in the Jr. Beta Club at GCMS visited Snow Hill Primary and Pre-K center classrooms and shared short stories that they chose. The students also got to join the Pre-K students on the playground to participate in recess and read with individual students in the media center as classes visited for their weekly elective.

Mrs. Davis, Pre-K Director said “This is great! The kids have loved having visitors and the Middle School students did an awesome job with the kids in the room.” One of the Middle School students shared, “I never really thought I would like to interact with the little kids, but this was awesome!” Mrs. White, Media Coordinator for Snow Hill Primary, said that she hopes this will be a yearly tradition.
