Sep 23 Active Kinston fire closes streets

Units from Kinston Department of Fire & Rescue, North Lenoir Fire & Rescue and Lenoir County Emergency Services are currently on scene at a residential structure fire.

At 7:20 this morning, Lenoir County 911 received a call reporting smoke coming from a home at 715 W. Washington St in Kinston. Fire department personnel arrived on scene to find active fire conditions.

Crews are still working to bring the fire under control. W. Washington Avenue and Dewey Street are closed to all traffic until further notice.
