RADD's June 1 Event: Baseball, motorcycle ride, and surprises

On Saturday, June 1, Grainger Stadium will host the Challenger Baseball game, starting at 11:00 a.m. The event, organized by RADD, is free and open to the public, encouraging community support for special athletes. Players from the DownEast Wood Ducks will participate alongside RADD players, making it a memorable day of inclusive fun and community spirit. Attendees can also look forward to a few surprises that will add to the excitement of the day.

Simultaneously, the RADD Ride will commence with registration at 9:30 a.m. at Boneyard Harley-Davidson in Winterville. The escorted ride, supported by the Winterville Police Department, Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, and Kinston Police Department, will start at 11:00 a.m. The riders will pass through significant local landmarks including the NC State Veteran’s Home and Caswell Developmental Center, before taking a break at Grainger Stadium.

Upon arrival at the stadium, riders will meet the athletes and showcase their motorcycles. The baseball athletes will then receive their season trophies.

Sponsors of the event include Triple P (Positive Parenting Program), Tundratown and Collective Church. April Houston, Executive Director, invites all riders and community members to participate and support the special athletes.
