Obituary: Vivian Carol Thompson

Vivian Carol Thompson, 88, of Kinston, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Harmony Hall, Kinston, NC. She was preceded by her husband, Ernest Thompson; son, Gregory Lee Thompson; parents, Asa Judson and Ruth Elizabeth Teachey; sisters, Doris T. Byrd, Velma T. Sandlin, Etheleen T. Dunham, Shirley T. Jenkins and Jean T. Monfette and brothers Phil E. Teachey and Asa J. Teachey, Jr.

Vivian was a supervisor at Caswell Center and attended Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing solitaire. She, along with her son, enjoyed watching “The Young and the Restless”.

Vivian is survived by son, Chris Thompson; granddaughters, Mandee and husband, Dwayne Morgan, Christy Thompson and fiancé, Tyler Davenport, Ashley and husband, Ryan Harrell, Tracey and husband, Curtis Whitley, Stacey and husband, Martin Dody; grandson, Scott and wife Cayce Tilghman; great grandchildren, Saylor and Gavin Whitley, Taylor, Kaitlyn, Tilghman and Maddox Dody, Carson and Scotlyn Tilghman, Abram Smith, Beau, Beckett and Brooks Harrell; Sisters, Patricia T. Lupton, Andrea T. Baron. brothers, William T. Teachey, Lynwood P. Teachey and special friends, Patricia Pearce, Teri Lavin, Hilda Smith and Minnie Gillette.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 1:00 pm with funeral services beginning at 2:00 pm at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Truett officiating. Burial to follow funeral service at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, 1936 Banks School Road, Kinston, NC 28504.
