The following restaurant inspections were conducted by the Lenoir County Health Department:

Queen Street Deli & Bakery 

115 S Queen Street, Kinston 

Date: 2/17

Score: 95

Observations: 

Hummus containers missing date mark under lift-top unit. 

Lots of wet utensils found in container on drying rack. 

Several scoops in this container still full of water. 

Plastic single service utensils being used as scoops are not approved. 

Hinge on lift top door prep unit is coming off. 

Build up observed on containers holding utensils, containers holding food items in cooler units, and in the bottoms of cooler units. 

Byrd's Restaurant 

196 Hwy 58 S, Kinston

Bottom grate missing from missing from RIC in the kitchen.

Observations: 

Additional cleaning is needed on gaskets, equipment and dry storage shelving. 

Walls and ceilings and floors observed to need additional cleaning. 

Riley's Drive-In 

405 E Washington Street, La Grange

Observed employee wearing watch. 

Observed forks out of packaging in a container in the dining room with handles and eating surfaces mixed. 

Old fries scattered on the bottom of one of the cooling drawers. 

Holes and cracks in floor in the kitchen. 

Leak in wall on floor in the dish room. 

Electrolux 

4850 W Vernon Avenue, Kinston

Clili in freezer is not date marked. 

Consumer advisory is not worded correctly.

There is no sneeze guard or barrier to prevent contamination from customers. 

Food employees are wearing jewelry on hands and arms. 

No waste receptacle for the disposal of paper towels at hand wash sink beside ice machine. 

Debris behind ice machine area. Some soiled hard-to-reach areas.
