$1.9M grant strengthens Global TransPark infrastructure

Lenoir County and the North Carolina Global TransPark have secured a $1.9 million Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) grant to upgrade sewer infrastructure at the TransPark. Announced by Governor Josh Stein, the funding will support the U.S. Navy’s new Fleet Readiness Center.

This project, which will provide maintenance and repair for C-130 military aircraft, is expected to create 440 jobs. The investment enhances the region’s role in aviation and military support while driving economic growth in Eastern North Carolina.
