The Boy Scouts of America donated Thanksgiving dinners to the Kinston Community Health Center for the second year. For many of us who love Thanksgiving, the good food, and being with family and friends, some individuals and families cannot. But because of the Food Lion Feeds Program, and VFW Post 2771, 15 families will be able to enjoy a meal together.
Recently, the Webelos II den of Cub Scouts Pack 41 (Gordon Street Christian Church in Kinston) completed a service project of loaf bread collection to benefit Mary’s Kitchen. On Tuesday, March 3 the six boys exceeded their goal and delivered 79 loaves of bread to Mr. Jim Godfrey, Director of Mary’s Kitchen.
Kinston Allstate Agency Owner Chris Humphrey recently presented local Boy Scout Executive Jonathan Brown a check in the amount of $500 from the Allstate Foundation.
This week, we are delighted to have some Boy Scouts at the market to sell popcorn as a fundraiser this Saturday. Please support them and buy their delicious popcorn to enjoy it during your Labor Day celebration.
