Greene Early College High School started the academic year with several exciting activities and initiatives. Greene Early College High School has been ranked No. 231 in North Carolina among the 2024 Best High Schools by U.S. News & World Report. The rankings evaluate nearly 18,000 schools at the national, state and local level.
Always seeking to expand student literary experiences through creating a print/book rich environment as well as preparing them for the adult world, Greene Early College English teachers, Emily Garris and Natasha Martin, have gone beyond the usual scope of the public school setting.

Changes are happening within Greene County Schools. Greene Early College High School will get a new principal. Mr. Taylor Moore will take over as principal for Greene Early College. The current principal, Dr. Rodney McNeill, will become the new Executive Director of Human Capital effective July 1.
Student Ivanya Johnson and two teachers - Natasha Martin and Cameron Gupton - at Greene Early College High School have earned recognition on the national stage. Johnson will swim and study sharks in the deep blue ocean waters of Hawaii.
Principals from the three schools received certificates for their achievements during the Greene County Board of Education meeting conducted at West Greene Elementary last week.
The reports included detailed information for all actions created by the school's Leadership Team and target date for completion. The actions needed to be simple, specific and lead to the achievement of each objective.
