Due to pending inclement weather the event will be held at Kinston’s Fire Station Number One across from Grainger Stadium. Parking is available at the stadium parking lot. AMVETS Post 1111 in conjunction with Lenoir County Emergency Services and Greene Lamp will be holding the 21st Annual Kinston/Lenoir County 9/11 Memorial Service. This year marks the twenty-first since the attacks impacted our Nation.
Rep. Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded Greene Lamp, Inc. a $1,339,300 grant for the Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships program (EHS-CCP) in Kinston, N.C.
Greene Lamp partnered with Samaritan's Feet to bring 1,600 pairs of shoes for children, adults, and seniors to Kinston as part of their Defeeting Poverty Community Resource Fair. The resource fair is being held at Grainger Stadium, in the parking lot until 1:00 pm.
The AmVets Post 111, Lenoir County Emergency Services, and Greene Lamp Community Action will host a 9/11 20th Anniversary Memorial Service on September 11, 2021, at 9:00 am at Historic Grainger Stadium.
September 11th is Patriot Day and a National Day of Service and Remembrance. AmeriCorps, formerly the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) announced funding that will bring American’s together to focus on service to others through national days of service. Greene Lamp was the only organization in North Carolina to be awarded this grant which will support volunteer activities on the annual September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance and throughout the year.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded Greene Lamp, Inc. two grants totaling $2.6 million for Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships (EHS-CCP) in Kinston, N.C. Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) stated, “We are incredibly grateful that HHS has provided this grant in Kinston to help provide low-income families access to quality education. Under-privileged children deserve the same opportunities as their peers, and the Early Head Start projects help level the playing field.”
