As I sat thinking about what I should write to help launch our annual campaign, what inspiring words I felt most fit now and this time…the message quickly became very clear to me. To be honest, the last few years have been tough.
Amazon’s local Kinston plant and Lenoir/Greene United Way teamed up to donate personal care products to three local shelters. Donations of men’s and women’s undergarments, toiletries, socks and cleansing wipes were given to Greene County Interfaith in Snow Hill, SAFE and the Friends of the Homeless shelter…a donation valued at over $1,000.
As we are all marking one year in this pandemic and moving forward in new ways to work and carry out our daily lives, I wanted to pause and share on a couple of themes – reflection and reaction.
An 18-wheeler truckload of kitchenware was given away through Stocking Kitchens with Hope at the Kinston Community Center for 21 area nonprofits supplied by Electrolux and distributed by Lenoir/Greene United Way.
