Pollocksville, NC - On Saturday, January 11, 2025, at approximately 8:26 AM, multiple emergency agencies responded to a devastating structure fire in Pollocksville. Despite the dedicated efforts of first responders, one individual tragically lost their life in the incident. The other individual was taken to Carolina East Medical Center and transferred to UNC Chapel Hill to receive medical treatment for their injuries sustained.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED – Lenoir Community College associate degree nursing student Alysha Collins of Pollocksville was recently awarded the Gail B. Reynolds Scholarship.
