Donald I. Thompson, 89, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024. The funeral service will be conducted Monday at 2 pm in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Margaret was born on January 31, 1937, to Frederick M. Taylor and Margaret Marston Taylor in Kinston, NC. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 1, 2024. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 2 pm at Faith Fellowship. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
On January 25, 2024, Michael Raymond Rouse, TSgt, USAF (Ret) passed from this life to his final reward. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, January 27, 2024, at 3PM at Edwards Funeral Home. Mrs. Ollie Williams Wesley, 92, of 330 Barber Avenue, Ann Arbor Michigan (formerly of Kinston, NC) closed her eyes peacefully into the joys of the Lord on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Funeral services for Mrs. Wesley will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Hull Road Free Will Baptist Church (2660 US-258 N) Kinston, NC.
Robert “Bob” Garland Lanier, 93, of Kinston, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2023 at Kitty Askins, Goldsboro, NC.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2024, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with pastor Dennis Peay officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery.
William Franklin “Fuzzy” Hill, 80, of Deep Run passed away on Saturday January 20, 2024. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28 at 6:00pm at Howard Carter Funeral Home, and a private burial service will follow on Monday, January 29 at Westview Cemetery.
Norris Jenkins King passed away peacefully on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. The funeral service will be held Friday, January 19, 2024, at 6 pm, at Garner Funeral Home with Pastor Kim Holley officiating. A visitation will be held immediately following the funeral service.

Kinney Wallace Byrd, the son of the late Arthur Gordon Byrd and Ruth Tilghman Byrd, was born on September 30, 1936 in Dover, North Carolina and passed away peacefully on January 7, 2024 after several years of failing health. A funeral service to celebrate Kinney’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Pink Hill Funeral Home, 1056 NC-11, Pink Hill. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM, prior to the service, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lee Memorial Park, 1040 Seth Turner Road, Deep Run, NC.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, at 11:00am at The Brown Chapel, Cypress Glenn Retirement Community, 100 Hickory St., Greenville.

A Graveside Service to celebrate her life will be conducted Friday January 5th, 2024, at 11am at Pinelawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 5 to 7pm at Edwards Funeral Home. The family is also receiving friends at her home.
