Yep, Friendsgiving, the word is a mix up of “friends” and “Thanksgiving” and the idea is to spend an evening near the Thanksgiving Holiday with your best buds.  Apparently the “younger” generation has been celebrating this for several years, but my more “tenured” generation has finally caught up.  

7th Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner Hosted by Sisters United

Sisters United, a grassroots non-profit organization co-owned by Ms. Victor Fields and Mrs. Hattie King-Hall, is proud to announce the 7th Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner. This cherished tradition, featuring a full home cooked Thanksgiving meal, will take place, Saturday, November 23, 2024,  at 12:00 PM on Thanksgiving Day in the Grainger Stadium parking lot, located on Vernon Avenue in Kinston, NC.

Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office updates public on arrest of Ryan Keith Everett and other cases

The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office held a press conference Wednesday to provide updates on the arrest of Ryan Keith Everett and ongoing investigations, including an armed robbery involving Octavius McCoy and Monica Munoz. Sheriff Jackie Rogers emphasized collaboration and the resolution of communication challenges within the justice system. “The Sheriff’s Office is here to protect, and we will use all resources to ensure safety,” said Sheriff Jackie Rogers.
