Juvenile charged after BB gun found at Woodington Middle School
Lenoir County Public Schools and Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office officials responded to an incident at Woodington Middle School Monday involving a juvenile who was found to be in possession of a BB gun on campus.
School administrators and a school resource officer were made aware of the situation and they immediately took action to ensure the safety of students and staff. The BB gun was confiscated without incident. There were no reported injuries.
Following the investigation, the juvenile will face criminal charges through Juvenile Services. The LCSO emphasizes that bringing any type of weapon onto school grounds is a serious offense with legal consequences.
“We take all threats to school safety very seriously,” Lenoir County Sheriff Jackie Rogers said. “Our priority is to maintain a secure learning environment for all students. Lenoir County Public Schools and the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office will continue working together to ensure all safety measures are enforced.”
