Snow HIll - Each year Greene County Middle School’s JR BETA Club partners with Paul Funeral Home in Washington, NC to help brighten the holiday season for the men and women serving overseas. The idea was sparked in 2019 when WITN featured the effort on their morning newscast. Since then GCMS and other GCS schools have provided almost 600 stockings for Soldiers.
Lenoir County Public Schools on Monday celebrated 12 of its elementary, middle and high schools that have been named an Apple Distinguished School, a recognition of innovative instruction and success in digital learning that has been bestowed on only a relative handful of schools in the nation and the world.
“White Christmas,” one of my favorite holiday movies, was made in 1954. I was around four years old at the time. I am unsure when I first watched the film, but once I viewed it, it became a Christmas staple.
Snow Hill Primary gives out a weekly award called "Terrific Kid" awards. Each teacher at SHP chooses a student who has been responsible, shows great character, or has reached a personal goal. National Apprenticeship Week kicked off at the Lenoir Community College Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing Center on Monday, Nov. 13, during the AAMC Speaker Spotlight on Apprenticeship. Students and Facebook Live viewers learned about Apprenticeship and its benefits from Dawn Kantz as well as different apprenticeship viewpoints from the panel of guest speakers.
