On December 5, 2024, at approximately 10:07 PM, officers with the Kinston Police Department (KPD) responded to a robbery report involving three victims at a party on the 300 block of S. Davis Street. The victims reported being robbed during the event, prompting an immediate investigation by KPD officers.
A Lenoir County man died Thursday from apparent injuries sustained while cutting a tree. A little after 3 p.m. today, Lenoir County EMS and the Sandy Bottom Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the Pamlico Road area in Kinston on a report of a person with traumatic injuries from a possible fallen tree
On Wednesday 12/04/2024 the Greene County Sheriff's Office along with NC ALE Agents served a search warrant at a residence on Second St in Hookerton, arresting two individuals, 33 year old Jessica Roxanne Bridgers and 28 year old Jonathan Davaugn Dunn.

Dedication of the Reynolds Way Memorial Plaque was held December 3, 2024, on the campus of UNC Health Lenoir. The beautiful plaque was unveiled to mark the naming of the connecting street between Herritage Street and Airport Road which runs through the campus of UNC Health Lenoir.
The North Carolina Department of Commerce has announced the county tier designations for 2025. The designations, which are mandated by state law, play a role in several programs that assist in economic development.
The Kinston/Lenoir Community Chorus is preparing for the 24th performance of Handelโs monumental work on December 9th at 7 PM. These two soloists are returning for this yearโs performance. The chorus is made up of over 50 singers from Lenoir and surrounding counties. The North Carolina Baroque Orchestra will accompany the chorus and soloists.
