Janice Faye Westbrook, 82, of Deep Run passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at UNC Lenoir Healthcare in Kinston. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at Garner Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Richard Parker officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Westview Cemetery.
Sandra Cathleen Cobb Grady was born to William Devereaux Cobb, Jr. and Nora Cathleen Cobb in Kinston, North Carolina on July 8, 1941 and was welcomed into her eternal home in heaven on December 14, 2023. A service of love and remembrance will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 18, 2023 graveside at Fairview Cemetery in LaGrange, NC. Sandra’s sons or siblings may be contacted for more information.
Harvette Hope Byrd Poole, 58, of LaGrange, passed away on December 10, 2023. Funeral services will be held at Westminster United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on Thursday December 14, 2023, with Pastor Dennis Peay officiating. A visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall. A private burial service will be held.
Walenah Macon Quinerly Outlaw, 95, passed away Sunday at Greendale Forest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A service of love and remembrance will be held on Saturday, December 16, in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. with Chaplain Seth Jones officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Mary Kathy Hughes Beaman, age 72, passed away Saturday morning, November 11th, 2023. A Service of Death and Resurrection to remember and celebrate Kathy’s life will be held by the graveside 2 PM Tuesday, November 14th, at the Snow Hill Cemetery with Reverend Emily Hamil-Blair officiating.
