It is with profound sadness that our family announces the sudden death of Patricia Lynn Civils Buck after a short but severe illness. Visitation for Patricia will be at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Garner Funeral Home in Kinston. A celebration of her life will follow at 1:00 pm.
George Speight Fordham, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. A Funeral Service will be conducted Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 11AM at Edwards Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow the service in Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Kathryn Sellars Carpenter Watson, 74 of Selma gained her heavenly wings on August 22. Memorial Service will be in Goldsboro NC at Fresh Start Home Church Ministries at 414 Shadowy Lane, Goldsboro NC 27530 at 11am on Saturday August 31, 2024. There will be Purple Bows on the Mailbox.
Linda “Susan” Kellum Lucas, age 70, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Visitation will be held Monday, August 26, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Howard-Carter Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jessie Frizzelle Hawkins, age 78, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 20, 2024, at UNC Lenoir Hospital in Kinston. Funeral Services will be held graveside 2 PM Friday, August 23rd, at the Rainbow Cemetery in Snow Hill.
William Lee “Bill” Jenkins, 79, of Deep Run, NC passed away at Kitty Askins, Goldsboro, NC on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 6:00 pm at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, Jim Williams presiding. Visitation to follow the funeral service. A burial will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 11:00 am at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Stephen Cashwell Hall, Jr., 61, of Kinston, NC was welcomed to his eternal home on Friday, August 16th, 2024. A service to celebrate Steve’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 21st at 2:00pm at Faith Fellowship Church in Kinston, NC.
Emmitt Robinson “Bobby” Davis, Jr., 84, was welcomed to life eternal on August 14, 2024, while surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home. A service to celebrate and honor Bobby’s life will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the Munn Gymnasium on the Emmitt R. “Bobby” Davis Sports Complex at South Lenoir High School. The family will receive friends following the service. A service of committal will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Elizabeth “Betty” Deall, 81, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lenoir County SPCA, PO Box 1481, Kinston NC 28503.
Stewart William Smith, also known as “Stuball”, age 82, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at his home in Kinston. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Jerry Eddie Sutton, 85, of Williston, SC passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 10, 2024. No formal services are planned at this time.
Heber Michael (“Mickey”) Adkins, 72, of Kinston, passed away on August 1, 2024, at 3HC Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC after bravely living with cancer for many years. A Celebration of Life will be conducted Friday, August 16, 2024, at 2 PM in the Howard-Carter Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Deana Denise Daughety Layden, 57, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024. A service to honor and celebrate Deana’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Hull Road Original Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Percy Cunningham officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center. A private entombment will be held at a later date at Westview Cemetery.
Bruce Michael Rafferty, age 77, of Kinston, NC of Lenoir County, went to live with the Lord Wednesday, July 31, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held at his funeral service Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. A reception will follow in Moseley Hall.
Pink Hill- Sharon Lee King, 73, died peacefully at home on July 29, 2024. Services will be held at Pleasant Hill Christian Church, 4306 Pleasant Hill Road, Pink Hill, NC 28572 on Friday, August 16, 2024 with Pastor Lynn Maxwell officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm with service to follow thereafter.
