A Kinston man was arrested by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office Thursday on felony firearm and drug charges in Deep Run.
On Thursday and Friday, the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office’s narcotics unit and Street Crimes and Ready Response (SCARR) unit arrested three individuals on drug charges: Brandy Hansley, 37, of Kinston; Victor Strickland, 57, of Kinston; and Matthew Whaley, 34, of Kinston.
The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office is aware of a scammer calling county residents claiming to be a lieutenant with the LCSO. The scam involves an individual threatening residents by claiming they have an order for arrest for missing jury duty.
On December 5, 2024, at approximately 10:07 PM, officers with the Kinston Police Department (KPD) responded to a robbery report involving three victims at a party on the 300 block of S. Davis Street. The victims reported being robbed during the event, prompting an immediate investigation by KPD officers.
On Wednesday 12/04/2024 the Greene County Sheriff's Office along with NC ALE Agents served a search warrant at a residence on Second St in Hookerton, arresting two individuals, 33 year old Jessica Roxanne Bridgers and 28 year old Jonathan Davaugn Dunn.
KPD’S A-Squad responded to Food Lion in reference to a shoplifting/larceny. While responding to the call, officers observed a suspect on W Washington Ave matching the description that was given by a witness. Officers recognized the subject to be Michael Jenkins (35 of Kinston) from previous encounters.
A man accused of breaking into vehicles and outbuildings on Bonnie Walters Road and then taking the change to an area Coinstar exchange machine was arrested Thursday morning.
An 18-year-old was arrested Sunday on Mays Store Road in La Grange for larceny of a firearm.
The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office held a press conference Wednesday to provide updates on the arrest of Ryan Keith Everett and ongoing investigations, including an armed robbery involving Octavius McCoy and Monica Munoz. Sheriff Jackie Rogers emphasized collaboration and the resolution of communication challenges within the justice system. “The Sheriff’s Office is here to protect, and we will use all resources to ensure safety,” said Sheriff Jackie Rogers.
Ryan Keith Everett was taken into custody this afternoon by the Graham Police Department. The 38-year-old from La Grange had been sought by area law enforcement since Thursday evening, when he allegedly committed a robbery in Greene County, stole two firearms and shot two individuals on Wheat Swamp Road in Lenoir County.
Following a short standoff that lasted about 45 minutes, a Georgia man and a La Grange woman were taken into custody Monday morning for a Falling Creek store robbery that occurred Friday and for a robbery of a tobacco shop on Nov. 3 in La Grange.
On Sunday, November 17, 2024, at approximately 6:00 a.m., KPD's D-Squad officers attempted to initiate a vehicle stop on Highway 70. The driver of the vehicle, sped away as officers made their approach. The pursuit ensued when the suspect drove over a ditch and fled on foot near Lenoir Community College.
A teacher assistant from Banks Elementary School has been arrested for assault on a child under the age of 12.

Detectives with the Kinston Police Department have obtained arrest warrants for two individuals, Jeramiah Golphin, 21, of Snow Hill, NC, and Kobe Sheppard, 26, of Kinston, in connection with the murder of 35-year-old Melvin Lofton.
